Happy Halloween!

It's hard to believe that a year ago I bought Scarlett's Halloween outfit for this year! She's a little young to go trick-or-treating, so we are staying in and handing out candy to all the kids that come to our house. We usually have a pretty nice turn out. Hopefully Scarlett will enjoy seeing everyone in their costumes.

I think everyone must agree with me that she's the cutest little Tootsie Roll ever!!!! :)

Music to My Ears

Yesterday was a truly monumental day. Joe and I were out running errands with Scarlett in the back seat. She was doing her little "talking" and high-pitched screeching as we rode along. Then she said something that sounded very similar to "Mama". I wasn't too convinced at the time, but she did it again last night. She just kept on saying "Mama"! It was wonderful to hear her finally say something, and I was especially overjoyed to have it be my name! :)

The Pumpkin Patch

We decided to take Scarlett to a pumpkin patch this morning. I had never been to one, and I thought it would be fun and great place to get some fall pictures. There were lots of pumpkins and fun things for kids to do. There was even a corn maze. I really wanted to go through that maze.... maybe next year or when she's a little older. I don't think it would have been too fun if we had really gotten lost!

Glow for the Cure 2008

It has been an EARLY day at the Farner's! We woke up before 5:00am to get ready and get downtown for the 2008 Komen Dallas Race for the Cure. CBI, the company I work for, had a team as we do every year, Glow for the Cure. I usually just donate money and sleep in, but this year we got up and participated in the 1K. I also solicited my friends and family and raised $210!!! It was for a great cause, and we had a really good time!!

Aida is also an Inspirational Cancer Survivor. Her picture along with the story her son wrote about her are displayed in front of Macy's at North Park Mall.

A picture is worth a thousand words.....

After being at the office most of the day on Tuesday, I came home and got right back to work. Joe brought Scarlett downstairs all wrapped up in one of her blankets to see me and then put her in this small stool we have in our front room/my office. The stool actually has a lid (to sit on) but can be removed to store things. It was really funny, and I took a couple of pictures. I then put them on Facebook. Let me tell you, I have never gotten more responses to 2 pictures!! I promise that we didn’t leave her in there long… like 2 minutes. Scarlett didn't seem to care either. I think she was wondering why Mommy and Daddy kept on laughing.

Our Little Pumpkin

Is this not the cutest little pumpkin you’ve ever seen??!!

Scarlett’s Gran Jan (my mom) came to visit her earlier this week and brought her this cute Hello Kitty Halloween basket with two super cute Halloween onesies, a fun book, and lots of other clothes. I actually bought Scarlett’s Halloween outfit last year when I was pregnant. I’ll post pics of her in it after her 1st night out of trick-or-treating…

Gran Jan & Scarlett

Scarlett’s little personality is really starting to shine through. She’s ticklish, loves to laugh, and just smiles all the time! She also LOVES her big brothers, Punkin and Peanut. Things are definitely never boring here!!!

I guess P&P think she's going to throw some food or something to them! :)

I couldn't catch her laughing with the camera, but this was a truly funny moment!

Young Taurus

While surfing the net this weekend, I came across some Astrology information for children. I thought Scarlett's was great! Here is what it said about a young Taurus:

Children born under the sign of the bull are calm and pleasant, consistent and practical. Being cuddly and affectionate, Taurus children enjoy physical contact. Endowed with a gentle nature, they can nevertheless be extremely stubborn.

Taurus is ruled by Venus - the planet of love and beauty - and Taurus can be seen as the most sensuous of the signs. The little ones are sensitive to colors and sounds and to a harmonious environment; they care about what they eat and wear and appreciate the finer things in life from early childhood on.

Taurus children won't be bullied into anything they don't want to do. If they feel forced they turn stubborn and won't give in to anything and anybody and will always hold their ground.

Most Taurus children are likely to have a naturally beautiful singing voice and a very melodic way of speaking. They should be encouraged to take part in any musical activity offered, be it singing in a choir or learning to play an instrument.

Collections and possessions are rather important to Taurus children and they love toys and things they can collect. They even like to take on little chores for money and save what they earn. They can become little money makers at a very early age.

Taurus children are extremely loving and sensitive. Physical signs of affection are especially important, and they enjoy receiving huge bear hugs from an early age. Taurus' are strong, and they will learn to make the best huggers in the world.

In general, your child is loving, generous, tender, sensitive, and for the most part, well behaved. Just make sure you don't push her too hard or force her into anything she doesn't want to do. She will process things on her own time.
